Mayzie Helzer was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Saturday, driving in four on three hits to lead Eaton Softball - JV past Strasburg 21-9 on Saturday. Helzer drove in runs on a triple in the first, a single in the third, and a triple in the fourth.
An early lead helped propel Eaton Softball - JV to victory. Eaton Softball - JV scored on a single by Karli Havel, a triple by Helzer, a fielder's choice by Lina Cruz, a single by Katie Hill, a double by Amelia Bowden, a single by Jadeyn Lampe, and a single by Havel in the first inning.
Strasburg scored four runs in the second inning. Strasburg offense in the inning was led by A Vetter and #19, all driving in runs in the inning.
Jaelyn Montoya was the winning pitcher for Eaton Softball - JV. The pitcher allowed ten hits and nine runs over four innings, striking out four.
Vetter took the loss for Strasburg. The hurler allowed 21 hits and 21 runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
Eaton Softball - JV saw the ball well today, racking up 21 hits in the game. Havel, Hill, Helzer, Bowden, Cruz, and Shea Bowden all managed multiple hits for Eaton Softball - JV. Havel went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Eaton Softball - JV in hits.
A Rojahn led Strasburg with two hits in three at bats.
