Eaton Softball - JV fought back after falling down by five runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in an 11-9 defeat to Roosevelt on Thursday. Eaton Softball - JV scored three runs in the failed comeback on a groundout by Mayzie Helzer, a single by Lina Cruz, and a double by Ayla Ritchey.
Eaton Softball - JV was right in it until Roosevelt hit into a fielder's choice in the third inning.
In the first inning, Roosevelt got their offense started. Roosevelt scored one run when Superior singled.
Eaton Softball - JV scored six runs in the second inning. Eaton Softball - JV batters contributing to the big inning included Zoe Lampe, Amelia Bowden, Karli Havel, and Cruz, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Rosenthal was credited with the victory for Roosevelt. The ace went four innings, allowing nine runs on 12 hits and striking out seven.
Jaelyn Montoya took the loss for Eaton Softball - JV. The pitcher surrendered 11 runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out four.
Eaton Softball - JV tallied 12 hits. Cruz, Ritchey, and Havel each racked up multiple hits for Eaton Softball - JV. Havel, Ritchey, and Cruz all had three hits to lead Eaton Softball - JV.
Roosevelt collected seven hits. Rosenthal and Superior each managed multiple hits for Roosevelt.
