Julia Meagher threw a gem on Thursday for Eaton Softball - Varsity, allowing zero runs and besting Valley by a score of 14-0
Eaton Softball - Varsity was boosted by Emma Pinkstaff who went 4-for-4 at the plate. Pinkstaff singled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh.
In the first inning, Eaton Softball - Varsity got their offense started. Eaton Softball - Varsity scored one run when Blayke Duncan tripled.
Eaton Softball - Varsity scored seven runs in the seventh inning. Eaton Softball - Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Duncan, Stephanie Bingley, Meagher, Jaeli Lewis, Zoe Hamilton, and Lina Cruz, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
A single by Blanco in the fifth inning was a positive for Valley.
Meagher led the Eaton Softball - Varsity to victory on the rubber. The righthander lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out 12 and walking zero.
Grant took the loss for Valley. Grant surrendered 14 runs on 20 hits over seven innings, striking out one.
Eaton Softball - Varsity tallied 20 hits. Bingley, Pinkstaff, Hamilton, Olivia Comer, and Meagher all managed multiple hits for Eaton Softball - Varsity. Pinkstaff and Bingley each collected four hits to lead Eaton Softball - Varsity. Eaton Softball - Varsity stole eight bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Pinkstaff led the way with four.
