Despite seeing its five-run lead whittled down by the end, Eaton still held off La Junta for a 7-5 victory on Thursday. La Junta scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by C Martinez and a groundout by L Nunez Rebel.

Eaton earned the victory despite allowing La Junta to score three runs in the sixth inning. Martinez and Nunez Rebel all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Sadie Ross was the winning pitcher for the Reds. Ross went seven innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out eight and walking zero.

Ross led Eaton with three hits in four at bats.

La Junta scattered nine hits in the game. Wiley, E Noll, and Nunez Rebel each collected multiple hits for La Junta.

Wtih the victory Eaton advances to the State Final Four. The Reds will play Brush at Aurora Sports Park on Saturday, October 10 at 10am.
